Haiti Has Returned to the World Stage — And This Time, We Build Our Future

Updated: Dec 7, 2025

The Kiskeya Sports System Celebrates Haiti’s Historic World Cup Qualification

Haiti has done it. After more than half a century, after decades marked by instability, heartbreak, political turmoil, and a slow national decline, our boys have delivered a miracle: Haiti has officially qualified for the FIFA World Cup. This is not just a football achievement — it is a national resurrection.

Our last participation was more than 50 years ago. Since then, generations have grown up hearing stories of 1974 as if they were legends etched in memory. Few imagined that Haiti — a nation fighting for survival — would return to the biggest stage in world sports at such a fragile moment in our history. Yet the national team rose above every challenge. With discipline, courage, and unshakeable belief, they offered a gift to the Haitian people at a time when hope felt faint.

Across Haiti and throughout the diaspora, something extraordinary happened: for the first time in years, every Haitian — regardless of religion, political view, financial situation, age, or social background — celebrated the same victory with one unified voice. Soccer remains the only force powerful enough to bring our people together under one dream, one flag, and one heartbeat.

But there is a truth we must face.We have had many opportunities to reshape the destiny of our country — and because of ongoing leadership failures, those opportunities came and vanished. Moments that could have lifted Haiti were allowed to slip through our fingers. Celebrations passed, momentum died, and we returned to the same broken cycle.

This time must be different. This time, we are prepared. This time, we are positioned to capitalize fully on Haiti’s participation in the World Cup.

And it is for this exact moment that the Kiskeya Sports System exists. This is not a new or improvised idea. We have been building, organizing, and preparing for years, waiting for the right moment when Haiti’s spirit would rise again — and the national team has created that moment.

To guide the nation forward, Haitians must understand the distinction:

The Kiskeya Sports System is the umbrella. It is a national platform designed to elevate all sports in Haiti, reshaping infrastructure, training, youth development, and long-term athlete support. Its purpose is to give Haiti a modern, organized, and sustainable sports ecosystem.

The Kiskeya Football League is one of its pillars.Focused entirely on soccer, it addresses player development, club structure, facilities, competition standards, and professional pathways. It is the engine that will transform Haitian football — and it falls directly under the Kiskeya Sports System.

The national team proved what our talent can accomplish even without proper structure. Now it is our responsibility to build the system that ensures their effort was not in vain. No more playing “home” games on foreign soil. No more temporary fixes. No more ignoring the potential that the world sees before we do.

Today, we congratulate every member of the Haitian national team — players, coaches, staff, and every person who carried our flag with dignity. They did not just qualify for a tournament. They reignited national pride, restored belief, and handed Haiti a once-in-a-lifetime chance to rebuild itself through unity.

This time, we will not let the opportunity slip away. This time, we have the structure, the platform, and the vision to turn victory into transformation.

Haiti has waited long enough. The time to build is now.The time to unite is now.The time to convert this qualification into national progress is now.

With the Kiskeya Sports System leading this new era, Haiti will not simply return to the world stage —Haiti will rise to reclaim its rightful place in it.
